Freemasonry means different things to each of those who join. For some it’s about making new friends and acquaintances. For others it’s about being able to help deserving causes, making a contribution to family and society. But for most it is an enjoyable hobby.

Freemasonry is one of the world’s oldest and largest non-religious, non-political, fraternal and charitable organisations. It teaches self-knowledge through participation in a progression of ceremonies. Members are expected to be of high moral standing and are encouraged to speak openly about Freemasonry.

Freemasonry has been around for hundreds of years. When you are initiated you’ll be part of this “legacy” that has a very long history. In a Freemasons lodge; all men are equal; There is no special treatment just because of your social status. Freemasonry takes good men and make them better. That is one of the main principles you’ll learn when you become a freemason.

Freemasonry offers the chance to be with and socialise with men who have the same values and ideals.

Freemasonry is always ready to welcome good men into the fraternity. Most lodges have their meetings posted in the local paper. Write to the secretary stating that you are interested in becoming a Freemason.

Another way is to just search for websites and send an email to a lodge. Someone will contact you and arrange a meeting to discuss things with you.

All that said, the best way is to ask someone you know personally who is a Freemason. Ask around, bring up the topic for discussion, hopefully one of your friends will know someone who is a Freemason and introduce you.

We welcome all Good, Decent and Trustworthy men who would wish to become Freemasons and learn about the History, Secrets and Mysteries of Ancient Freemasonry.

Men who would wish to be part of a worldwide fraternity, whose members enjoy good company and who are normally at least 21 years of age or in Scotland if your Father is a member of a Freemasons Lodge, then you can apply to become a member after attaining the age of 18 years.
