Fire Walk in aid of Prostate Scotland
Lodges in the Province of Fife and Kinross were asked to support a fund raising for Prostate Scotland initiative organised by Bro. Colin Davie PM of Lodge Balgonie No.764. Around 30 took part in the fire walk helping to raise funds for this very worthwhile cause.
Taking part in the event on behalf of Lodge Randolph No.776 was Bro. David Baisley Past Master.
Of the event Colin said:
"Yesterday I reflected on what we had achieved with walking over a bed of hot coals. Personal Goals, Teamwork and Fundraising. I think each one of us had some apprehension on doing a Firewalk but each one of us overcame it. Yes, we all knew one another but the encouragement that was given to each Firewalker from the rest of the walkers was inspiring.
A fantastic amount of money was raised, approximately £14,000 for a very worthwhile cause in Prostate Scotland and all of this through the support of our families, our friends, our work colleagues and our Lodges. The support on the night was tremendous. It gave each and every one of us that extra bit of confidence that we required to achieve our goal.
There is far too many people to list that I need to thank, from the helpers on the night to everyone who supported us in many ways but I'm sure those of whom I thank personally, will pass on these thanks to everyone who has helped and supported the Firewalkers in this event.
To the Firewalkers, Venimus, Vidimus, Vicimus (I will save you time in Googling) We Came, We Saw, We Conquered.
Thanks to each and every one of you who took and played your part in raising these much needed funds to find a cure for Prostate Cancer. Thank you all.
