Brethren Visit Barbados
On a trip organised by Bro. James Hume a member of Lodge Liberton No.1201 in the Province of Midlothian and his wife Heather, Brethren from twelve Lodges representing five Provinces in Scotland along with their wives and partners visited Barbados. Among the visitors were our own RWM Bro. David Baisley and Treasurer Bro. Bill Rocks PM.

Provincial Grand Lodge of Edinburgh
Provincial Grand Lodge of Fife and Kinross
Provincial Grand Lodge of Linlithgowshire
Provincial Grand Lodge of Midlothian
Provincial Grand Lodge of Perthshire West
On their arrival a reception party was given at the hotel where the visitors were welcomed to Barbados by among others the minister for tourism.
During the visit the Brethren visited two Lodges working under the District Grand Lodge of Barbados, on the occasion of their regular meetings.
The first of these visits made was to Lodge Unity No.1625 where RWM Bro. William Adrian Massiah gave the Brethren a very warm welcome into the Lodge. This was also the occasion of the annual visitation by the District Grand Lodge of Barbados who were led by the District Grand Master Bro. George Walter S. Brathwaite who again proffered a warm welcome to the Brethren into the District of Barbados.
The work of the evening was the usual business of the Lodge, Installation of Office-Bearers not present at the annual Installation the Previous months and a Eulogium by Bro. Sir Hugh Wooding PM, on the demise of Bro. Sir Frank Worrell, a West Indies cricketer and Jamaican senator. Delivered by Bro. George A Ramsay PM, Substitute District Grand Master.
The second visit was made to Lodge St. John No.1062 where again a very warm welcome was afforded by RWM Bro. Roger Bushelle.
The work of evening was the usual business of the Lodge and to receive the "Paul Best Memorial Lecture" 'Masonic Research - get started' delivered by Bro. Thomas M. Cross.
On each of the visits presentations were made to the RWM of the Lodges.
Bro. Steven Johnson PM Lodge Liberton No.1201 presented two gavels for use by the Worshipful Wardens to Lodge Unity No.1625.
Bro. Mike Munro PM Lodge Liberton No.1201 presented two gavels for use by the Worshipful Wardens to Lodge St. John No.1062.
Bro. Alistair Gibson RWM Lodge Templehall No.1599 presented gavels for use by the Right Worshipful Master to both the Lodges Unity No.1625 and St. John No.1062.
Each of the Right Worshipful Masters was also presented with a personal gavel.
Sir Elliott Belgrave Past District Grand Master, The Governor-General of Barbados, invited the Brethren and partners to visit and meet with him in his home. Several of the Brethren took up the invitation and visited where they were entertained with drinks.
